Junkanoo Tribute
In Memory Of
 Sir Lynden Pindling

Friday night saw something totally unique in Bahamian history to date, a Memorial Junkanoo Rushout, staged to honour the late Bahamian National Hero Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling.

The country's major Junkanoo groups gathered at the Southern Recreation Grounds and rushed to Bay Street where they observed a moment of silence before offering a moving cultural rendition of the National Anthem outside the House of Assembly where Sir Lynden's body lay in state.

People lined the streets to watch.

The Junkanoo procession continued, some with muted drums, through the streets of Nassau to East Street's Windsor Park where they joined thousands for a solemn singspiration and public service held by the Progressive Liberal Party.
